Entry # 1

Tray # 1 - disqualified.
COMMENTS: Unfortunately, your 'wallpapers' do not fit the criteria
of the definition.
Wallpaper definition, pg 60: "22- 1.14 Wallpaper - An all over pattern
of REPEATED
tiny images....". Imagine taking a cookie cutter and placing it on a
piece of printed fabric
(or wallpaper). Anywhere you place it, you will have a sampling of a repeated
design,
which can overlap the edges on the button.
Here are some wallpaper examples: http://personalpages.tds.net/~reruns/wallpapers.jpg
Other problems. Please contact me for more details. Lynn: reruns@tds.net

Entry # 2

1st Place - Blue or Merit Ribbon
Comments:
Some very nice examples! The celluloid with shell is very unusual.
The VI has an unusual OME. Loved the snowflake and it's a great material as
well.
Button labeled "Trefoil composition": The "Depose" backmark
might indicate
this material is horn. We can only assumed it is correctly labeled and is
indeed comp.
A mislabeling measle might be given if it's horn. Verify by inspecting the
back
for a 'pick mark' and under magnification for signs of striations before using
in competition.
Be VERY careful about the paisley pattern. It is a very strictly judged design.
This one does not have a definitive tail and might not be acceptable.
Labeling the backmark on the rubber is advisable for pouters because
we cannot take it off the tray to look at the back to verify. Hard rubber
only counts
as rubber if it's backmarked. Look for more materials. Brass was repeated
heavily.
The unlisteds should have been labeled individually,
but it was nice that they were big enough to read on a monitor.
Labeling the sizes to verify the "various" requirement would have
been helpful
since we cannot physically measure.
We had to assume that everyone has the correct number of 6, 6, 6 and 7.
