Measled - In the bottom row, the button made of silver and used for the
word money appears to be a real coin. "If you make a true coin into a
button,
the surface side showing becomes the subject. You might show a head which
would be
useable on a head's tray. The entire coin is not the subject, but rather,
only the design imprinted on its surface."
You had a nice variety of materials but lost points for too many realistics.
Almost half of your buttons were realistics so work on getting more
pictorial buttons that are not realistics.
We particularly liked your paste crab and aluminum poodle.

Comments:
Measled - We had a difficult time with the button labeled Year.
The face of the button is a clock showing the time approaching 12 o'clock,
and we did not feel that this tied in directly enough with the concept of
the noun Year.
In looking up the noun Year in the Merriam Webster Online Dictionary,
the definition given is "1 a : the period of about 3651/4 solar days
required
for one revolution of the earth around the sun b : the time required for the
apparent
sun to return to an arbitrary fixed or moving reference point in the sky
c : the time in which a planet completes a revolution about the sun.
The button also has Y2K on it, but again we did not feel this tied in with
the definition given as this phrase referred to the change in the millennium.
In the bottom row, the bird is labeled Tuscan.
This word is not used in any dictionary we consulted to refer to a bird.
We are assuming, correctly we hope, that you meant Toucan.

Comments:
You had a good selection of materials and did a good job of keeping the number
of realistics low. Your yacht of British Bakelite is lovely as is the MOP
rose. Labeling of specific types of plastic helped your material count. You
did not have a backmark indicated on your card, and this would have added
to your point count.

It would have helped if you had been more specific in labeling
your metal and plastic buttons. The three material heart and the Bimini tassel
are particularly nice. You also did a good job of keeping the number of realistics
at a reasonable level. Labeling a specific backmark would also have helped
your point count.

Comments:
You put together a good tray and also kept down the number of realistics you
used.
The copper cabin and the Bimini tree are beautiful buttons.
Be as specific in your labeling of materials as you can.
